But, its as real as everything else in this world. The flora in the Spirit forest as plentiful. These include trees, fruit trees, berry bushes, mushrooms, leafy vines, and spices. Some type of animals that are prey are mice, rats, opossum, bats, rabbits, pika, squirrels, chipmunks, flying squirrels, lemmings, fish, raccoon, American marten, fisher (martes pennanti), ermine, weasels, ferrets, minks, wolverine, badgers, turtles, lizards, frogs, snakes, and skunks. Other large animals that live around the packs, though are as not as smart as the pack, include lynx, deer, bears, otters, and porcupines. There are bugs as well, but no birds. The forest is made up of 3 different sections, separated into 3 different territories taken by the three different packs. Although the three parts have trees and prey, they all have different homes within their base. A river runs down the middle of it all. The den for the wolves is a large rock cave system. They have a room for the alpha’s family, main pack area, nursing den, elders den, and healing room. Meetings are run from the main pack area. The foxes live in an underground den system underneath the dirt, lined with grass and roots. Each fox makes their den when they become of age or will take over an old one. Old dens may be fought for if it is in a good location and fox must defend their territory from each other. Males and females may move together or live separately if mated. Cubs live with mothers. Shamans will move from one den to another to treat others. Meetings are held on a rock named “Fang Peak”. The hybrids live purely among the trees. They can use their claws to climb up into the trees to escape predators and find more prey. There is a field area but it is more vulnerable to attacks so it is only used for the injured and the birthing cubs, as well as raising them for the first few days. Everyone has their own tree, but they share if needed. Since babies are born with their eyes and ears active, they can learn about climbing within a day or two. They store what food they find in the ground since it cannot be brought up into the trees. Meetings are held in the field. There is also a waterfall shared by the packs. The law is that all fish, water, and land from it must be shared. Wolves and hybrids like to hang out here, but the foxes avoid it as much as possible. All packs must send their alpha and some members the alpha has chosen on the solstice to meet in peace and discuss problems between the packs. Other meetings can be held, though the packs aren’t obligated to come. the spirits, The spirits are the mystical force that runs the forest. This is the explanation for all things that the packs can’t explain. The spirits run all the changes in the forest such as the changing of the seasons, the growth of the animals, the rise and fall of prey, the weather, and the founding of the original packs. The spirits are also known to aide the packs when they do good in a karma-like system. The packs are supposed to thrive live in peace and harmony and aide each other. This doesn’t happen though in general. But when the packs are good and work together (or specific members), they are rewarded with gifts like the gift to mate with other species, etc. When they are bad the spirits may send punishments to the forest as a way to try to get the packs to work together such as monsters, spirits, abandoned cubs, etc. [/style] |
