The wolves are a hardworking group. They are known for their pack loyalty, their connection to the forest spirits, and their adaptability. Their strengths are their ability to communicate well and work together, supporting one another, their strong faith in a hierarchy, and long life span (10-16 years in wild). Their weaknesses include their reliance on the spirits in times of pain, their hardship of living alone, and high age of maturity(2 years female, 3 years male). Foxes - Based on the Red Fox. The ref fox can be a swift and noble group at times, but can be as tricky as a fox at others. They lives in packs, but the hierarchy is not as respected in other packs. Single fox’s can get jealous and may trick their way into power. They are known for their common trickery, their ability to hunt alone, and swift (but silent) movement. Their strengths are their omnivorous diet, their young age of maturity, their ability to work alone, and their ninja like movement. Their weaknesses involve a small live span (most at 3-4 years), trickery causing lack of trust, and having little faith in the forest spirits. Hybrids - The hybrids are a mix breed of panthers and hyena, said to be created by the spirits. The legend says that the 3rd and 4th packs (panthers and hyenas) were suffering under the under two. While they could not work alone, they decided to work together and the spirits blessed them with the ability to mate. The pack is not one species, called the “Hybrids” for the mix of the two. They have long bodies and tails like the panthers, but gained the senses and community sense of the hyena’s. They are known for their stalking abilities, usable claws, ability to see in the dark, and long bodies. Their strengths are night hunting, use of claws while fighting, and ability to climb trees. Their weaknesses involve sleepiness during the day, always having to groom themselves, and a lot of their past relying on legends. pack relations, While the packs do stick to their own lives and territory, they do counteract each other because they share the land. The land is divided by animals walking their territory and marking it with their scent as they guard their boundary. They may only hunt in their territory, but some may sneak into others if prey is lost or they are chasing an enemy. This can cause problems between packs, whether an all out way or just a dispute. At this point, the alpha of the packs become involved to try to settle the conflict and stand up for their pack. This may lead to disputes and fights at times. The wolves have peace among themselves, therefore try to show peace with the other packs. If they catch someone else in their pack, they will puff up and try to bully them out with the least amount of violence possible. The wolves are weary of the foxes due to their trickiness, but they try to give them the benefit of the doubt. They enjoy the company of the hybrids when there is time, but some pack members disagree that they are slackers. The foxes are good hearted, but can be tricky at times. They enjoy fooling the other packs with tricks and jokes. If they find an enemy in their territory, they will skip to violence. They also may use their brains to trick enemies out. The foxes don’t like the wolves much and attack the wolves quickly if there is a dispute. They generally don’t see the hybrids, except at night, where they are on the defense and tend to use their brains. The hybrids respect the other’s in the forest and try to focus on survival. But they tend to be lazy during the day and work at night, with little interactions to the other packs. They try to use reasoning when running into other’s on their property, but when attacked will not think twice about using their claws. They are friendly with the wolves, often sharing meat or time in pace. With the foxes, they only cause trouble in defense and will give all foxes their fair chance. Though, once you lose their trust, its almost impossible to gain it back. Some things that can cause disputes are territory battles, wars declared by alphas, battles over lack of food, natural disasters that ruin one pack’s territory, unloyal members between packs, fox hierarchy battles, fox trickery, accusations between packs, and friendships between packs. pack ranks, Every pack has the same pack ranks, although some packs take it differently. The wolves are very strict and loyal to the hierarchy. The foxes use the order but can be tricked out of power at times. The hybrids have the pack as well, but the alpha is very open to taking opinions and working together as a pack. These are the pack orders and how you earn them. Alpha - The alpha of the pack is the leader. They overall, have the authority to do what they want, though they should keep the pack in mind. Sometimes their motives are questioned, because they generally know more than regular members of the pack. They are sometimes visited by the spirits, but are mostly given messages from the spirits through the healer. The alpha is brought into power when the previous alpha dies. The deputy than takes over. Deputy - The deputy is second in command and becomes alpha when the previous alpha dies. Their duties include taking care of tasks the alpha assigns, directing the warriors, and helping with the camp where needed. The deputy is chosen by the alpha the same night the previous deputy dies or when he is moved up as an alpha. Healers - The healer is the medical one of the camp. They are very well educated in the fauna and healing aspects. They are not allowed to fight or kill and are generally respected among all packs. The healers are connected to the spirits and can communicate with them in mysterious ways. They may see predictions in their dreams. Each pack can only have 1 healer, but there may be a healer’s apprentice learning to take over. Warriors - Warriors are adult pack members that have been trained in combat and hunting. Most pack members are taught this and must dedicate their lives to their tribe. They work daily to mark borders, hunt food, and defend the pack. They can be directed by the alpha and at times the deputy. They work in shifts. They always eat last to make sure everyone else has food. They must abide by the warrior code. If they break the warrior code, the punishment is up to the alpha. They may be assigned to train apprentices. Elders - Elders are retired warriors, too old or injured to fight. They generally have battle scars and are very wise. The elders are highly respected in a pack. If a fox tries to steal an elder’s den, they are shunned until returned. They tell stories about their past to the cubs. Apprentices - Apprentices are cubs that have turned 6 moons. They are given a warrior to apprentice under to learn the warrior code, combat, and hunting ways. They also are appointed with changing bedding for elders and bringing them their meals. Cubs - Cubs are any children under 6 moons old. Queens - Queens are female warriors that are currently taking care of cubs. This includes late pregnancy, birthing, and taking care of them until they are 6 months old, when they will resume their duties to the packs. Queens may not train their own cubs. Wolf queens stay in the nursery, foxes stay in their own dens, and hybrids stay in the field until their subs can crawl into the trees. Queens may also nurse other babies and help each other. Wanderer - Someone who has no pack that wanders along. This is highly looked down upon and all the clans will perceive them as an enemy. This may be due to leaving or being banished. warrior code, The warrior code is a set of rules for the packs to abide by. Warriors must dedicate themselves to the code, though there have been cases of breakings of rules. Alphas decide the punishment for breaking rules. The Warrior Code
